Last updated: March 2026
Fascination Works, LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website fascination.works. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what your rights are.
We keep this short and honest because we don’t do much with your data.
What we collect
Email addresses
If you subscribe to our newsletter, Fascinating (this week), we collect your email address. This is processed by EmailOctopus, our email service provider. We use your email address solely to send you the newsletter. We do not sell, share, or use your email address for any other purpose.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by contacting us directly.
Contact enquiries
If you email us at privacy@fascination.works or contact us by phone, we retain that correspondence to respond to your enquiry and for our own records. We do not add you to any mailing list unless you explicitly ask.
Cookies and local storage
This site does not set any first-party cookies. However:
-
Google reCAPTCHA: Our newsletter signup form uses Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam. When you choose to load the form, Google may set cookies on your device. Google’s use of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The form is not loaded until you explicitly consent.
-
Local storage: We store a single preference in your browser’s local storage (
cookie-consent) to remember that you’ve agreed to load the reCAPTCHA-protected form. This is not a cookie and is not sent to any server. -
Mastodon comments: Some blog posts display comments loaded from ruby.social, a Mastodon instance. When a post includes comments, your browser fetches public replies directly from the Mastodon API. No data is sent from our site to Mastodon – the request comes from your browser. If you reply to a post on Mastodon, your reply is governed by your Mastodon instance’s policies.
We do not use any analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising scripts.
